In Moscow and St. Petersburg - a new round of investigative actions within the so -called "swamp business"

In Russia, a new wave of investigative actions began in the so-called “swamp case” on the riots in Moscow on May 6 last year: on Tuesday, 30-year-old Muscovite Dmitry Ishevsky was charged with participation in the riots and the use of violence against representatives of the authorities. Ishevsky was detained for 48 hours. The decision on further suppression must be made by the court. On Monday, similar accusations on the "Swamp case" were brought by a resident of St. Petersburg, an activist of the Vesna movement Polina Strongina. She is under the subscription about the lower room.

The website of the Investigative Committee of Russia says that "the investigation intends to establish and bring to justice all organizers and participants in the riots on May 6, without exception." Employees of the Center "E" appeared in the apartment of the young man Strongina Grigory Koppa, took Polina and, together with her, went to the place of her registration, to the apartment to the Polinina mother, where they searched. From there, she was taken to Ruzovskaya Street, 8, where the center is located, and interrogated for more than 8 hours. As Radio Liberty told Radio Grigory Kopp , neither he, Nor Polina expected such a development of events, did not feel danger, did not notice surveillance:

- She was interrogated for a very long time, the lawyer was not allowed to be allowed, there was no connection with her. Only when she was released, we learned that she was under the subscription of the lower room and is accused of participating in the riots. But I believe that there were no riots there, Polina participated in clashes with the police provoked by the police herself, because she was in an unnecessary place at unnecessary time. Unfortunately, I had a session, I could not go with her and let her go alone.

It is difficult to judge what was happening during interrogation, since Polina gave a non -disclosure subscription. According to the activist of the St. Petersburg branch of the Party of the RPR-Parnas Lev Dmitriev , she was shown video frames on which she throws a plastic bottle at a policeman, and she partially pleaded guilty:

- What happened to Polina Strongina is a new round of political repression. This is absurd when a person can sit for 8 years for a plastic bottle. There were already a lot of violations - not only did the lawyer not allow her, but also carried out a search without a warrant, so we will certainly hold protests, we will support Pauline.

The struggle is difficult, especially given the state of the Russian judicial system. Polina is now facing a very difficult choice - to get freedom along with a plead of guilt or get involved in a long struggle, proving their innocence without much hope of success

I must say that administrative affairs were repeatedly started to Polina Strongin, related to street shares held in St. Petersburg. In these matters, her defender was a lawyer, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg from the Yabloko faction Alexander Kobrinsky, who not only won all these cases, but also ensured that Polina receive compensation for moral damage. Nevertheless, he has already stated that the struggle is difficult, especially given the state of the Russian judicial system. Polina is now facing a very difficult choice - to get freedom along with a plead guilty or get involved in a long struggle, proving their innocence without much hope of success.

Polina Strongina needs the help of professional defenders to make the right decision, ”said civil activist Dinar Idrisov :

- We see that the “swamp business” has reached the regions that the Moscow investigative group is working, which finds out the circumstances of the events on May 6, 2012. When Polina’s mother came to Ruzovskaya, she was not told anything about her daughter, they explained that investigators from Moscow were engaged in business. And the lawyer stuck out on the street for two hours - he was also not allowed, which is a gross violation of the rights of the detainee. Pauline had to be tight, thank God that she even remained free. But actually, the investigation violated the rights of Polina, because she was detained in the status of a witness, and then they were so skillfully processed that it would now be very difficult to build her protection. Now it is necessary that everyone as soon as possible learns about what happened to Polina, so that all those who participate in the events in Bolotnaya think about the consequences and in the event of detention and interrogation adhered to the strategies of the 51st article of the Constitution, which allows citizens not to testify against themselves. After all, any words in interrogation can turn into evidence against themselves and against others. So it is necessary to act, at least before the appearance of a professional defender by agreement, and not appointed by the state, as Polina had. After all, you can always give evidence, and it is very difficult to return what has been said.
Many experts were surprised that the new defendants in the “swamp business” began to appear two years after the events, after some accused fell under an amnesty, while others received prison terms.

The need to tighten the nuts within the country is a consequence of the split of society due to events in Ukraine, ”says the political scientist, head of the Republic of the Republic, Sergey Tsycheaev :

- Now, in my opinion, the leadership of the camp makes the right movements, refusing to enter troops to the east of Ukraine, recognizing the elections. But some of the people will clearly be very unhappy with this, therefore, in order to keep the situation under control, the authorities tighten the regime, take primitive steps so that no one relaxes. But there is a second explanation for the new stage of the “swamp business”: after all, when law enforcement agencies begin to work, this machine is already moving due to its own inertia, it requires more and more resources, therefore, it must demonstrate the results at all costs. After all, if specific people always tell how important and need them, they want to play a central role in the development of society - yes, they need to show their indispensability, catch spies, plant terrorists, expose subversive elements, otherwise it is not clear what they do. There is such a wonderful expression, although expressed on another reason - that the government does not solve the problem, it finances them. In my opinion, this is largely that happens here.

The lawyer of the accused of organizing the riots in the swamp Leonid Razvozhaev Dmitry Agranovsky says why the "swamp business" will not end in any way:

- I predicted it, there is nothing like that here. I personally think that just an investigative group should somehow justify their existence. This is a matter, it is not dusty, not dangerous, these are not terrorists, not some bandits. And it is quite honorable. There is a large investigative group, a large car that works for a big business. The case ended, we must go around my apartments, houses, cities ... I don’t see any political and practical meaning in this either for the state or the authorities, even from the point of view of expediency. You yourself see that the “swamp protest” has come to naught, and after Ukraine he generally contrasted himself with the absolute majority of people in the state. I think this is only to justify their existence to those who do this.

For participation in the riots and the application of force to police officers in the framework of the so -called "swamp business" nine people have already been sentenced to real terms of imprisonment. They received from 2.5 to 4.5 years in a colony. The only convicted conditionally for three years is Alexander Dukhanin. The accused under the same articles Mikhail Kosenko was recognized as insane and sent for unlimited forced treatment to a psychiatric hospital. 11 defendants in this case at the end of last year fell under an amnesty, things were closed in their regard. Now in the courts of Moscow two cases are considered in relation to the participants of the action on May 6, 2012 in Bolotnaya Square. On the bench of the defendants, Alexei Gaskarov, Alexander Margolin, Ilya Gushchin and Elena Kokhtareva, who are accused of participating in unrest and the use of violence in relation to the police. In the Moscow City Court, the prosecution is completed to submit evidence in the so -called “case of the organizers”, within the framework of which the accusations of organizing riots on May 6 in Bolotnaya Square in Moscow and in an attempt to organize riots in other cities of Russia were presented to the leaders of the “Left Front” by Sergei Udaltsov and Leonid Razvoszhaev.
