A group of OSCE observers disappeared near Donetsk

The OSCE mission in Ukraine reported that on Monday she had lost contact with one of her teams, who are east of Donetsk, and still has no information about her whereabouts, RIA Novosti reports .

The connection was lost around 18.00 on Monday.

“The team was on the usual patrol east of Donetsk when the connection was lost. We have not been able to restore the connection so far. The team consists of four international observers, ”the OSCE informs.

The mission reported that the incident brought to the attention of the Ukrainian government and will report the newly incoming information.

“We continue to make efforts, including using our contacts on the spot in order to establish the location of the observers,” the report says.

The group includes four people - citizens of Estonia, Switzerland, Turkey and Denmark. Later, on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported that together with law enforcement agencies, the department is working on the establishment of the location of the OSCE group, with which a connection in the Donetsk region was lost.

“The Foreign Ministry and law enforcement agencies of Ukraine, being in contact with the OSCE monitoring mission, are taking all the necessary measures,” the director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yevgeny Dubinis told Interfax-Ukraine.

At the end of April, at one of the checkpoints near Slavyansk in the east of Ukraine, representatives of the militia detained on suspicion of espionage of NATO officers from the OSCE military mission. A few days later, observers were released with the assistance of the representative of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Lukin.
