Records, records (if I could not get vinyl) and all kinds of information regarding Psychic TV , I began to collect in the second half of the 80s. This allowed me to publish a number of articles in the early 90s that launched the beginning of the Psychic TV cult. The Internet and, accordingly, free access to information was not at the mention of the information, so I replenished the lack of texture, even more “mythologizing” this story. This acted on the minds of individual cool guys, and one of them, George Mheidze, then the guest at the Pi-Ordah in New York, said that he saw the clippings of my articles in the archive of Jen. However, this is not surprising: Pi-Ordge, as a real historian-archivist, always collected everything that concerns his long and incredibly eventful life.

Today, when the third incarnation of Psychic TV regularly tours in Russia, the Russian Internet is full of first-hand information-you can find many exclusive interviews of the pi-corridge (and it is always exciting to read them), as well as many original competent articles about his work. Therefore, I will dwell on only a few of my private observations from the point of view of today.

The current PTV3, let's say, sounds at the level of the middle Russian group.

It is strange, for example, to see the geniezis of Pi-orge on the cover of such a respectable publication as Kommersant Weekend . This is generally some kind of purely our peculiarity when concerts of noble radicals and marginals (they can be attributed to Michael Jira and David Tibet) become objects of mass media and almost mandatory for visiting an intelligent metropolitan youth. No one remembers anymore that Psychic TV once seemed dangerous and, most importantly, once dangerous. Behind the latest transgender mutations of Pi-orge, the former Croulian background of the project was somehow forgotten, as well as their Thee Temple Ov Psychick Youut , a sect disguised as a feng club, or, conversely, a feng club, disguised as a sect, as anyone likes it. But for some reason, the British police in 1991, in the absence of the owners, nevertheless burst into the Pi-Ordah house in Brighton with a search and confiscated all the archives (and this is in England, and not in Yekaterinburg). Of course, they, fools, did not understand all the wrong ones, but still. Pi-orge with his family was forced to directly from Nepal, where he was at that time, to emigrate to the United States.

There he had a hard time: some kind of musical career collapsed, his own Temple Records label burst (and here, ugh, you, Danbraun Templars, have disappeared), elementary sources of income disappeared. In addition in California, he with two minor daughters in her arms was thrown by the alert of Paul, which he erected into the most important element of the entire mythology of the group. Jenu in general, I must say, got in this life. This is to the question of why not a single magician-and in some deep sense of Pi-Orridge, of course, a wizard-can achieve power in real life (it is worth recalling the sad fate of Alistair Crowley, and he was not a couple of a fool Jenu). This was well written in the “Fiery Angel” by the decadent, a morphinist and at the end of his life the faithful communist Valery Bryusov. But I still note one of the many incredible events that happened to the Pi-Ordget: in 1998, he suddenly got rich. Like any miracle, there is a physical explanation in the physical plan: he sued inconceivable for a marginal musician one and a half million dollars from the famous producer Rick Rubin after a fire in the home studio of the latter. Having jumped out of the window, Genezis broke everything that was possible and, as his last wife Lady Jay said, was very difficult to rehabilitated.

A separate topic is the role of women in his life, that pedestal, on which he built them - as a medieval minstrel, as an early Russian symbolist or just a masochist, in the end. As if for each of them he saw the chthonic image of the Great Goddess. His gap with Kozi Fanny Tutti, who went to Chris Carter, became the end of the Beatles industrialized Throbing Gristle . We have already talked about the collapse of the "astral" marriage with the hollow. With the third - the nurse and Dominatrix Jacqueline Breyer, the lady Jay called him - they generally decided on the unthinkable: to become mirror reflections of each other, moreover, by one creature (Rubin money came in handy for plastic surgery). And here a terrible finale was waiting for the poor Pi-orja. In 2007, the light of his eyes faded away - the woman suddenly suddenly dies of it doubles.

It is interesting that today one of the recognized fathers of industrial, which proclaimed the rejection of “blues and slavery”, on the contrary, is seen by the last reflection of the Lizergin outbreak of the unique 60s, a little late for this holiday of life. Hence, he has the cult of Brian Jones, the White Lamb, sacrificed for the sake of the eternal life of The Rolling Stones (single “ Godstar” , the main success of Psychic TV in the charts), hence the cooperation with Moroccan musicians from “Jajuki”, whose first record was made by Brian, and much, much, much more, the name of his last one. Wives, covers on the Sidbarretov Pink Floyd , Beach Boys , Serge Gensbur, the enthusiastic acceptance of Rive and Eisid House as the Renaissance of the sixties utopia and, finally, that psychedelic garage that his group plays today.

How is his dimensionless musical heritage obeyed today? Here, of course, how many people, so many opinions. But still: with a sober view of the Psychic TV discography, which has about a hundred releases, it is found that full-fledged albums can be counted on the fingers, everything else is concerts, demos, remixes, spoken Word , embossing, noisic and other instrumental notes. Pi-orju was characteristic of documenting each of his sneezes, because the main thing, as he declared, is not the result, but the process.

For me personally, the time tested for me very little: the grandiose 14-minute track “ Terminus” from the debut album with its impressive video of ritual self-immolation, the entire album “ Towards Thee Infinite Beat” , a masterpiece of anxious esid-house, a pair of singles-the famous “ Godstar” and little-known Buntar “ Love War Riot ” - well, several rare concerts like “ ALE Swedish Live Show ” ( the latter are a pleasure for an amateur). That, in fact, is all.

The current PTV3 , let’s say, sounds at the level of the middle Russian group, although Pi-Ordge still manages to achieve exciting magical moments in the speeches. There are no questions to Jenu himself, he himself is his main work that will always remain interesting. As for some special cult around Psychic TV , then, according to my observations, he quietly came to naught-unlike the same Coil or, say, Swans , which to this day remain inaccessible values.

PSYCHIC TV will be performed on May 30 at the Moscow club Pipl, and on June 1 - in the St. Petersburg "Waiting Hall".

On May 31, in the framework of the Film Festival , new documentary films festival , the film “Ballad of Genesis and Lady Jay” (22:00, the Museon Art Park) will be displayed.
