
The Italian Foreign Ministry announced the liberation of the OSCE observers, the contact with which was lost on Wednesday in the Donetsk area in Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the RAI News 24 TV channel.
As noted, a citizen of Italy was among observers. The Department of Crisis Response of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already contacted his relatives.
On the eve of the OSCE, she restored the connection with the group of observers, the organization announced on Wednesday previously the loss of contact in the Donetsk region. Contact with them was lost when members of the mission left for the next patrol east of Donetsk and were stopped by unknown people in the roadblock near the city of Shakhtersk.
On Tuesday, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that the circumstances of the group disappeared indicate the possibility of detaining by pro -Russian groups. "We are calling for the Russian Federation, which supported the decision to deploy the OSCE special monitoring mission in Ukraine, to apply to their supporters who are under actual control and receive support for the Russian side, immediately release members of the OSCE special monitoring mission," the document said.
In turn, the leadership of the Donetsk People's Republic claimed that it did not have information about the whereabouts of the mission.
