“We laid flowers to all those who tragically died on May 2 and tried to figure out what really happened. As you know, social networks and the media, depending on their orientation, actively discussed two versions of what happened. In short, some saw a Kiev trace in this ( “Bandera fascists came to kill Russian-speaking people”), others - Russian (“The FSB paid for the provocation to disrupt the presidential elections”). In fact, no one really believes in such versions in Odessa.

Almost everyone we spoke to insists this is a purely local story. Odessa elected a mayor, and local oligarchic clans fought for the position of mayor. We met with representatives of the Maidan, anti-Maidan, AutoMaidan, local journalists and activists. Most people adhere to this version."
