On May 30, one only had to open the newsfeeds to make sure once again: we live in a war, and we are not talking about Ukraine at all.

Here is a list of news for one day only.

First, the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, on behalf of Vladimir Putin, are preparing a list of banks with which state-owned companies will be required to work in order to protect them from sanctions against Russia. It turns out that President Putin's decision to transfer his salary to Yury Kovalchuk's Rossiya Bank, blacklisted by the US Treasury on March 20, was not just populism.

Second, from 2016 the federal authorities may oblige the use of the services of only one state-owned Internet provider, which could be Rostelecom. That is, a way has been found to effectively control how the army of officials, students, and schoolchildren use the Internet. And so that information harmful from the point of view of the state, God forbid, does not leak automatically, on the same day, on the 30th, work began in the State Duma on a bill by Deputy Andrei Lugovoi, according to which news aggregators like Yandex will have to register as mass media - following for popular bloggers.

News number three: The Ministry of Defense announced a tender for the creation of an information security system: after all, the enemy is at the gates, and the software and hardware, including computers, tablets and smartphones used by the military, are all entirely foreign-made.

Another touch to the picture of the country besieged from all sides - the fourth news - the first deputy of TsNIIMash Alexander Danilyuk declares: in the story with the fall of the Proton-M launch vehicle, the version of "deliberate sabotage" cannot be ruled out. There are, therefore, in the ranks of workers in the space industry some pests who pour water on the mill ... Well, then you yourself remember ...

And in order for the people to properly resist such pests, here is the finishing stroke! - news from the chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin: he proposes to return the "hypothetical application" of the death penalty. As an example, the head of the Investigative Committee cited Belarus, where in 2012 two young men were shot dead, accused of committing a terrorist attack in the Minsk metro a year earlier: they say that in the state allied with Russia, terrorism has since been eliminated. Mr. Bastrykin, apparently, forgot that the death penalty, in fact, has not disappeared from the Russian Criminal Code. And the guilt of the Minsk terrorists was doubted by their lawyers, independent observers, and even some victims, who stated that the evidence provided by the investigation was insufficient and dubious ...

However, if we take the news for other days of the past week, the picture becomes even bleaker.

May 28 - Director General of the Judicial Department at the Supreme Court Alexander Gusev did not recommend that judges and court employees go on vacation to countries with which the United States has treaties on mutual extradition, referring to similar recommendations from the Foreign Ministry for all citizens of the Russian Federation, published on April 10.

May 26 - Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin declares that it makes no sense for Russia to participate in the International Space Station (ISS) project.

May 23 - The State Duma in the third reading approved the law on criminal liability for concealing dual citizenship.

Separately, these news do not cause much concern: who cares where the judges will rest and what happens there on the ISS. It becomes uncomfortable when you watch them "as a whole." And you understand: the trend, however... Little by little we find ourselves in a state that has dug in from the rest of the world and is waging a quiet war with everyone, and above all with its own citizens.

It is better to notice this sooner rather than later. Otherwise, just like that “suddenly”, the day will come when, following the Belarusian peasants, whom Alexander Lukashenko forbade on May 27 to leave without the permission of the administration, we, the Russians, will have to shrug our shoulders: here you are, they say, grandmother, and St. George’s day.
