
A single textbook of Russian history, the development of which is currently underway, will be supplemented by information about the role of Crimea and Sevastopol in the fate of the Russian state. According to the Kremlin press service, such an assignment was given to the government following the meeting of the head of President Vladimir Putin with representatives of the All-Russian Popular Front.
Putin instructed the unified textbook of Russia for a secondary school, which will be deprived of "internal contradictions and double interpretations" in February. He announced the need to develop a single historical and cultural standard, approved by the Russian historical society, and its public discussion. Based on this standard, a new textbook will be written.
The Ministry of Education stated that they would begin to teach history in a new way on September 1, 2014, although the textbook would not be ready by that time.
