The Prime Minister of Abkhazia resigned

The Prime Minister of Abkhazia Leonid Lakebay resigned, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the speaker of the parliament Valery Bganb, who currently acts as the president. The duties of the head of government will be temporarily fulfilled by Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Delba.

The resignation of Lakerbai previously required the Abkhaz opposition. Her demands were supported by the parliament, which brought the premiere a vote of no confidence. However, Lakeka still refused to resign. He left his post only after President Alexander Ankvab, who on June 1 made a statement on the addition of authority.

Leonid Lakebay in the past, in the second half of the 2000s, held the post of Deputy Prime Minister. Later, when the ankvab became the president, he headed the Cabinet of Ministers. This position was held by Lakebay since 2011.

The change in power in Abkhazia was achieved by an opposition, which at the end of May organized a massive anti -government rally, and then captured the presidential administration and the building of state television. Oppositionists formed the "Provisional Council of Popularity", led by the former presidential candidate Raul Hadjimbo and announced the creation of the Provisional Government.

President Alexander Ankvab against this background left the capital and left for the Russian military base near Gudauta.
