I am the director of The Theater. doc ". I am an unusually law -abiding theater director. And I try not to violate the law - even under articles by which violations in theatrical affairs are familiar. I pay taxes, including fees and wages - no “schemes”, everything is as it is. I never give bribes. I do not cash out money. I do not hand over theatrical premises for "left" non -vertical events. The fire regulations that our theater received was a tablet for me, mandatory for me. And we honestly passed the fire check. All that we do in the theater is in the strict framework of our authorized activity.

But from July 1, 2014 I am going to become a malicious violator of the law. I go to this completely consciously, because otherwise is impossible.

Because on this day the law, which we call in everyday life “the law against the Russian language”, enters into force. And I must either take several performances from our repertoire, or oblige the authors to amend. To remove non -normative vocabulary from the performances - where it is used.

In particular, it became known that some theaters of Russia solely because of this law remove the play by Anna Yablonskaya “Gentiles” from the repertoire. Anna - I remind those who forgot - the rising star of dramaturgy, talent and beauty, died at 29 years old in a terrorist attack in Domodedovo.

And now her plays, beautiful, realistic plays, are forced to shoot theaters from the repertoire.

And I'm in shock. First, the state kills Anya, not protecting her from terrorists, in that terrorist attack in Domodedovo, and now he kills her plays !!! This will not happen in the "Dock". She entrusted us with the first production of this play, dreamed of a play in the “Dock” ... But she no longer had time to see the prime minister. And yes, I invite all opponents of non -normative vocabulary on the stage, including deputies, who are probably not at all aware of what they vote against, to see our “pagans”. I suspect that those who adopted this law are simply “not in the subject” of the modern theater-apparently, at the words “profanity on stage”, something like Natasha Rostova, swearing Tatyana Larina, and not “pagans”, where non-normative vocabulary is just one of the colors. The level of competence of our legislators in matters of the modern theater became clear to me after the performance of Senator Fedorov, known in theatrical circles, where he, criticizing the state of the modern theater, made about five actual errors per minute.

"But why is it impossible without a mat?" - the defenders of this law ask. Can. You can without a mat. But let the author of the play, the author of the play, the director of the theater, decides it - what kind of performance they want to put. And the viewer, warned about the presence of non -normative vocabulary in the play / at the concert, may not buy a ticket, but can buy. A person is able to solve at least such a question without a state car, believe me!

But the main thing is that there was a high culture of the ruling classes with the norm of the literary language and numerous taboos in art and literature and at the same time there were oral folk poetry (ditties), fair performances, fairy tales and songs, jokes. This folk tradition gave real masterpieces of a kind that are unthinkable without abnormitative vocabulary, without a free, spreading word.

Modern culture, the modern theater belong not only to selected classes, for example, a new small or large bourgeoisie with its feverishly acquired normativeness - in the absence of real roots. The modern theater is for everyone, it feeds on both traditions - both literary and folk. Innordative vocabulary is one of the colors. And the contemporary artist is free to choose her if he needs it for his plan.

If the laws are absurd, if they are adopted by incompetent people, if they also contradict our Constitution, which the Fedorovs have not yet been canceled, to obey such laws is to participate in the sliding of society down. And we, the people of the theater, work for the sake of our public, we love it and respect it, we call our spectators up to self -esteem and freedom. With those words, which, without an incompetent uncle with a rod, will choose.
