It is difficult to assume that on the First Channel “Kuprin” was put specially against “demons”; The federal channels seem to have already merged into one - although no one has canceled counter -programming. And the “Kuprin” looks like that-as the answer to the channel “Russia”, not even the answer, but so, a friendly ironic replica, but still.

In the "demons", we recall, it was quite directly indicated that the main evil is students and the intelligentsia; The people there are represented in complete harmony with each other and law enforcement agencies. Yes, as if at first, Kuprin agrees: students and journalists, of course, are sold - but no more than the rest. The police, frankly, are no less scheme: they decorfully take bribes and say that "with violence it is just the sweetest." There, a little later, the executioner will go into the house. “Ten troubleships knocked down,” he will explain respectfully. - These revolutionaries. Tired".

Yes, the series says: of course, students and journalists are muddy, but as for the main reasons for the turmoil - we would not be so categorical and offer the wording is softer: as they say, "all are good." Although students are naive and think in their youth that you can live not according to the laws of the pit, but still, we will not at least deny their gusts, pure, and the lack of basic cynicism. And the writer notes this - what kind of impulse we respect them, although he is meaningless. And prostitutes are capable of a noble act, and the intellectual here is ready to sacrifice their place in order to save someone’s soul, although he does not believe in her salvation. And journalists, of course, are scum, but at least they tell the truth about themselves - unlike guardians who have no doubt about their rightness.

The public house itself can be considered, in fact, in an even broader sense - as a matrix, as a universal system of relations. And as an attempt to self -justification. There, at the table, one of the journalists throws quietly: “And I think so: if you paid, so be patient.” That is, as the creators of the series say, you despise us and we, of course, understand everything to ourselves. But we suffer. Because it’s nowhere to go (and this is “nowhere”, apparently, the authors especially like it). You can, of course, try to escape from home (this is also an interesting metaphor), but this idealism ends “even worse”, right along Kuprin. Well, we are bastards, o'key. But you? .. Suppose you are not smeared with anything and you get a salary outside the house. Of course, you can take a “fundamental position” in relation to the house, “not to cooperate with the house” - but is your position to be morally flawless, the series asks maliciously. The house is a vice, and debauchery, and moral murder, but we all go here - one way or another? .. We all use the services of the house. Therefore, it turns out, this is in some way and your house? .. Well, yes, he is a pit, but there is no other.

Moreover, all these scenes with journalistic replicas - Kuprin does not have them, and they were invented for a bunch of different works in the series, as well as for the introduction of the figure of the writer himself, Alexander Ivanovich, which is hidden under the name Platonov.
They write fairly that the writer Kuprin does not find a place in the series - and this is true, if we assume that he is the main storyteller.
