There is a humanitarian catastrophe in Russia, but not because of refugees
In the Russian media, messages about the growing stream of refugees from the south-east of Ukraine are flashing: 4 thousand, 8 thousand ... Governor of the Rostov Region Vasily Golubev introduced a state of emergency regimen on parts of the territory-the region borders on the Lugansk and Donetsk regions, where the anti-terrorist operation continues, and in Rostov from the beginning of June, the number of Ukrainians who want to get a temporary preferences, according to the Rostov officials, according to the Rostov officials, according to the Rostov officials, according to the Rostov officials It increased markedly. These are mainly women, children, old people.
However, Ukrainian border guards do not connect people in Russia with an anti -terrorist operation: summer - in the summer people always move more actively. For example, according to them, on June 2, 11 151 citizens of Ukraine crossed the border with Russia, and on the eve of the weekend, May 30, 15 380 Ukrainians. Almost the same number of citizens of Ukraine every day crosses the Russian-Ukrainian border to enter Ukraine, they say in the border service of Ukraine.
Even when this armed conflict arose, Russia stated that it was ready to accept refugees from Ukraine. In particular, in Moscow a special reception was even opened for them. There really began to appear people who submitted statements with a request for temporary asylum. Basically, these were Ukrainians who have been living in Russia for a long time, and want to live constantly, but the current order did not give them such an opportunity. They turned there, received a document that gave them the opportunity to stay here for some time, after which the question was raised about providing temporary asylum, but this already caused more difficulties.
Then, a very thin stream, people really went from Ukraine. Among them there were many people who, in the correctness of expressing, needed medical care. For example, a couple, mother and daughter came to us, who stated that they came from Kharkov, because they were taken hostage there. Who is taken hostage? All! Who takes hostages? Soldiers! What are the soldiers? A completely strange answer followed - American. There were several such “refugees”.
Recently, real refugees began to appear, and not people who just used the opportunity that all the citizens of the former USSR had to be given a long time ago. The flow is small, many times less than, for example, a stream from Syria. Yesterday a family of Russians came from under Slavyansk, from the hottest point, among them there are victims. They came to friends in the suburbs who provided them with a house in the village. These are people who really need help. They turned to the regional immigration service, where they were not issued any document and made an appointment on September 15. Despite the fact that they have the right to stay in Russia for only three months, after which they become violators. I talked about this with the head of the migration service, he replied that they need to think about how to formalize it, because there are a lot of refugees. “A lot” is a few dozen.
There are refugees in the Rostov region. Prime Minister Medvedev says they are 4 thousand there, and that it is a humanitarian disaster. But it’s just funny, for Russia 4 thousand refugees are generally nothing, it is a lot for Luxembourg. Then the statement of Pavel Astakhov about 8 thousand followed, it is also incomprehensible from where. At the same time, 7 applications for asylum were currently submitted to the Rostov Migration Service. I called my employees in the Rostov region, and they said that they saw refugees: about 200 people who were placed in some camp or boarding house. In another boarding house, 500 seats are being prepared, and 1.5 thousand inhabitants of the Rostov region expressed a desire to accept refugees at home. This does not pull the humanitarian catastrophe and the introduction of a state of emergency. During the Chernobyl accident, three families of Ukrainian refugees lived in a small three -room apartment of my mother -in -law, with grandparents. And then it was not a humanitarian disaster.
It’s just that now the whole society is in a hysterical state, and even our authorities would like so that there would really be so many refugees that there is a need for an emergency.
What we hear from the country's leadership is all political statements. They do not fit into any logical framework. It is enough to imagine the flows of refugees from Syria: Lebanon accepted a million people, Jordan received 600 thousand, Türkiye accepted 800 thousand. And the world is ready to help them, international organizations that support these countries join this. Europe accepts 40-60 thousand, and they are reproached for not accepting enough. Russia, in fact, also invested in this by sending funds to Turkey and Jordan for $ 10 million, purposefully investing them in household items and medicines for the Syrians. At the same time, we also seem to have the installation that we are ready to accept Syrian refugees, the Foreign Ministry says this and is supported by the federal migration service, but the relevant authorities are delaying the process, bringing it to court. And our current courts are monstrous, it was impossible to even imagine such irresponsibility of judges before.
In addition to all this, we must not forget that we ourselves produce Ukrainian refugees, we must remember what war they run from. The humanitarian catastrophe in our country really takes place, only it is not connected with refugees from Ukraine. Someday it will end, everything in life ends, but I would not want the country to end with this disaster.
