Nationalist Tesak took off the hunger strike

Nationalist Maxim Martsinkevich (Tesak), arrested on charges of extremism, removed the hunger strike, which he held 67 days - from March 28. This was reported by Interfax with reference to Alexei Mikhalchik, a lawyer of Politzek. During the hunger strike, the lawyer added, Tesak lost 43 kilograms of weight.

The Nationalist made his decision at a meeting to extend him the arrest, held on Thursday in the Kuntsevsky District Court of Moscow. As Mikhalchik explained, Tesak came to the conclusion that his hunger strike has no practical meaning, and there is a threat to life. “Due to the state of health, the court allowed him to answer questions sitting,” the lawyer noted.

Meanwhile, the arrest of Tesak was again extended - this time until July 27. The court did not take into account the arguments of the defense that insisted on the transfer of the nationalist to house arrest or release him on security of 10 million rubles.

At the same time, on July 27, six months have expired from the moment the tesak was delivered to Moscow and its formal detention. Six months is the deadline for detention for persons accused of medium severity, which include the subscribing to the nationalist part 2 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code (excitement of hatred or hostility with the threat of violence). If the court does not begin until July 27, the Politzek will have to be released.

The hunger strike Tesak immediately after it was announced by another nationalist’s lawyer - Alexander Zheleznikov. "So he expresses his disagreement with the refusal of the investigation to introduce an independent examination to the case file and conduct a second expert study," the lawyer explained. Earlier, at the request of the defense, an examination was carried out, which came to the conclusion that in the speeches of Tesak there were no calls for national razor. However, experts involved in the investigation came to the opposite conclusions.

Then Zheleznikov said that the accused and lawyers have not yet begun to familiarize themselves with the investigation materials. “Investigative actions are not finished at the moment,” the lawyer remarked. Meanwhile, earlier on the same day, Kommersant, citing Tesak’s lawyers, reported that the investigation in the nationalist case was completed .

At the end of April, it became known that the administration of the SIZO-3 "Presnya", where the Tesac is contained, threatens to apply compulsory feeding to the Politzek . In support of this measure, the jailers referred to the regulations and instructions of the FSIN.

In this regard, Mikhalchik noted: "Indeed, the law in Russia allows you to apply such a measure if the loss of the weight of a starving person threatens his health and life." Meanwhile, the lawyer added, the Strasbourg court in his decisions repeatedly equated the forced feeding of the prisoners who hold a hunger strike to torture.

It was not known whether the compulsory feeding was applied to Tesak.

The reason for initiating the case against the nationalist was three videos published by him on social networks in September 2013. Tesaka faces up to five years in the colony.
