Former Microsoft top manager became the president of GoPro

The former top manager of Microsoft Corporation Tony Bates was appointed President of GOPRO, a manufacturer of super-strength cameras for shooting under extreme conditions. It is reported by Bloomberg with reference to the press service of GOPRO.

Bates will also be included in the Board of Gopro directors and will become the second most important manager in the company after the founder and general director of Nicholas Woodman.

Bates left Microsoft in March this year. In the media, he was repeatedly called a possible contender for the post of new head of the corporation, Mashable points out , but in the end, Microsoft was headed by Satya Ondalel. Before Microsoft, Bates served as the general director of Skype, and even worked at Cisco Systems earlier.

GoPro strengthens the management composition on the eve of the IPO (primary placement of shares), which submitted an application for at the end of May. It is expected that during the placement the company will attract up to $ 100 million, and will be estimated at more than $ 2.5 billion.
