VKontakte can be headed by the son of the general director of VGTRK

Mail.ru Group, which owns 52% of VKontakte, proposed to the post of general director of the social network Boris Dobrodeev, the son of the head of VGTRK Oleg Dobrodeev.

It is reported by ITAR-TASS with reference to a source in the federal authority. Dobrodeev’s nomination was confirmed by a source close to the VKontakte shareholders: “The candidate for the post of head of VKontakte from Mail.Ru Group is Dobrodeev. The VKontakte team accepted it, it is very competent. ”

According to the source, its appointment has not yet been agreed by another VKontakte shareholder - the UCP Foundation, which owns 48% of the social network.

Now Boris Dobrodeev is the acting general director of VKontakte. He entered the leadership of the social network in January 2014, taking the post of first deputy general director for relations with investors. Prior to the arrival in VKontakte, Dobrodeev was a member of the board of directors Mail.ru Group .

In April, the powers of the general director of VKontakte Pavel Durov were terminated . According to Vedomosti , at the end of May 2014, Durov filed a lawsuit against the UCP , managing partner of the Ilya Shcherbovich fund, partners of the Victoria Lazareva and Yuri Kachuro Foundation, as well as Durov’s former partners - Ilya Perekopsky and Axel Neffa. The defendants were also the three former companies of Durov, who own part of the assets of the Telegram messenger - Digital Fortress LLC , Telegram LLC , Pictograph LLC - which were redeemed by UCP at Neff.
