Writing organizations of Russia will be united under the roof of the House of Russian Culture. Public hearings on the project of its creation were held at the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, chaired by Minister Vladimir Medinsky.
He noted that the ministry wanted to consult with representatives of unions, writers, publishers, specialists who could tell about their vision of the future house, ITAR-TASS reports.
Almost all experts spoke out for its creation, only the deputy chairman of the Russian Writers Union Nikolai Ivanov spoke sharply against it: “We occupy the second and third floors of this building according to the order of the government. Where are we going? Will we not be there? ”
“Our topic is simple: there is a destroyed building, this property was ruled extremely poorly, this is the last fragment of the property of the Union of Writers of the USSR, which is under the jurisdiction of the ministry, everything else has spread,” Medinsky said in response. “We suggest saving the building.”
In the XVIII century mansion, in addition to the Russian Writers Union, the Union of Russian Writers, the Union of Russian Writers, the Russian Pushkin Society, the Russian Pen-Center, the International Books Council, the Russian Book Magazines, Publishers, Special Media and other organizations will be located on Komsomolsky Prospekt.
It is assumed that after restoration, the house will turn into "one of the centers of educational, concert, exhibition, publishing and research activities." Congresses of writers, creative meetings, presentations will be held in the House of Russian Culture, a children's center, a library and a cafe will be created.
Now the mansion with a total area of about three thousand square meters has recently been operated by the Union of Writers of the Russian Federation and is in disrepair. Overhaul will be carried out with extrabudgetary money attracted by the Ministry of Culture, the deadlines for the beginning of restoration have not yet been named.
