105 years ago, on June 6, 1909, an English philosopher, historian and diplomat Sir Isaia Berlin was born in Riga.

In the fall of 1945, he worked at the British embassy in Moscow and met with Anna Akhmatova. The poetess believed that this meeting in many respects provoked subsequent persecution of her.
