
On June 12, the Media, Architecture and Design of Strelka will host a single -wing festival of electronic music 300% Chill. The festival headliner is theo Parrish, the legend of Detroit Dip House.
Theo Parrish (b. 1972) since childhood was fond of jazz, recorded his first compositions at 13 years old. After graduating from the Chicago Academy of Arts, he continued his education at the Kansas-City Institute of Arts, where he received a bachelor's degree with the specialization of “sound sculptures”.
In the mid-1990s, the musician moved to Detroit, where he founded his own Sound Signature label. Parrish samples old records (mainly disco, funk and soul), creating collages from them with the addition of live tools and vocals. In addition, he plays multi-wire dies, often performs at the London club Plastic People .
