Earlier on June 11, Yankauskas, a municipal deputy in the Moscow district of Zyuzino, who was going to run for elections to the Moscow City Duma, was charged with fraud with money for the election campaign of Alexei Navalny under the fourth part of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for punishment of up to ten years in prison.

Charges were also filed against the head of the Moscow branch of the Party of Progress, Nikolai Lyaskin. They took a written undertaking not to leave him.

According to investigators, during the election campaign of Alexei Navalny for the post of mayor of Moscow, Yankauskas, Lyaskin and Ashurkov transferred one million rubles each to the candidate’s electoral account and called for a refund of this amount by sending funds to their e-wallets of the Yandex.
