Obama without trust

The Americans ceased to love their President Barack Obama. In fact, the rating of its approval back in 2010 fell from the original prohibitive heights and since then hesitated in the region of 50-60 percent, and in the last year only half of the Americans stably approved the activities of his president. But now the next line has been taken: in support of Obama, according to Gallup research, only 47% of Americans spoke out, it does not like it 52%. Thus, for the first time in six years of Obama’s presidency, his total rating dropped to -5%.

Also, Americans are getting worse and worse assess the various qualities of their president. Only 48% of Americans are sure that Obama understands the problems that they face in everyday life, 47% consider it honest and deserving, 45% called him a strong and decisive leader, 43% are sure that the head of state shares their values, only 39% think that Obama can effectively manage the government, and only a third, 34%, hope that Obama has a clear plan for solving problems countries.

For comparison: in 2009, 100 days after the inauguration, 60% of the Americans were sure that Obama shared their values ​​and 73% were sure that their president was a strong and decisive leader.

It may seem from Russia that the decrease in Obama rating is associated with its not too successful foreign policy. Everyone says that a full -scale civil war began in Iraq, American troops have not started the invasion of Syria, recently in the Russian media it has become fashionable to hint at the worthlessness of the president, and the representative of the State Department of Jen Psaki became the object of ridicule.

Nevertheless, the Americans are extremely egocentric people - as practice shows, they do not give a damn about the international situation, but they love or hate their political leaders exclusively for their merits on the “internal front”.

So, the previous falls of the Obama rating were recorded in October 2010, shortly before the parliamentary elections, when the activation machine of the Republicans who were in opposition worked at the full and twice in the end of 2013, when the press that arose in connection with the implementation of the main provisions of health reform - the main legislative innovation of the presidency of Barack Obama.

In recent weeks, the American media unfold as many as two scandals. One is associated with medical help to veterans in hospitals, which are subordinate to the Department of Veterans.

In the United States, the concept of “veteran” applies to all soldiers and officers who returned home from the war - it does not matter where and when it was. In Russia, as a rule, this word is used rather for participants in the Second World War and, accordingly, extremely elderly people.

The law guarantees many social benefits to American veterans - such as training at the university, preferential mortgage, as well as maintenance in special hospitals that are part of the system of veterans. In the spring of 2014, a number of reports were published in which it was stated that the excessive bureaucratic system, long lines and poor attitude to veterans leads to the fact that people die without waiting for medical care.

According to sociologists, more than two -thirds of American citizens are monitoring the scandal - and they are of course dissatisfied with the fact that President Barack Obama cannot cope with the problem and establish the work of the department.

Another loud scandal of recent times is connected with the exchange of five prisoners of Guantanomo for the only American military who was captured by the Taliban - the first (senior) lieutenant Bowy Bergdal. It would seem here the actions of the American administration should not cause any questions - their citizens must be saved under any conditions and at all costs, otherwise who will go to serve in the army. However, the questions still appeared.

It turned out quite quickly that Bowie Berdal most likely left the part on his own, as he considered the American policy in Afghanistan criminal. A few hours after the disappearance, he called the cell phone in the unit, and also sent home an email. After a few days of wandering, he was really caught by the Taliban, but he was captured by great freedom - he, for example, was allowed to wear weapons with him.

During the search for Berdal, according to CNN, at least six people died. According to the media, the Pentagon abandoned the idea of ​​dumping an American soldier from captivity and, moreover, exchange it for prisoners of the Afghan military leaders - namely, the Taliban set during negotiations.

Moreover, it was impossible to suspect the American authorities that they did not know the history of Bowe Bergdal - it was described in detail in Rolling Stone magazine already in 2012.

This all does not mean that an American citizen did not have to rescue from Afghanistan - the issues raises why the White House made such a decision without conducting discussions in parliament and why he is trying to make a hero from Berdal.

However, a high trust rating could, of course, amuse the pride of the American president, but it would hardly be useful to him - he is already a second term and leave the White House in 2.5 years.

However, no one is going to call the US President a lame duck. Moreover, the republican party opposition to him has his own problems: the other day, the leader of the republican majority in the House of Representatives Eric Kantor lost the primaries in his constituency, a candidate from the “Movement of Champshy”, a little known Libertarian David Brother. Thus, in the fall, the leader of the Republicans will leave the parliament.

The last time the head of the faction lost the primaries more than a century ago, in 1899. Experts suggest that since even the leader of the parliamentary majority could not win the primaries in their native constituency, the Republican Party awaits serious shocks - most likely this will lead to the fact that it will take even more conservative positions, which means that the US Congress will be even more difficult to develop consensus.

In some ways, the shocks in the Republican Party in the hands of the Democrats, which Barack Obama represented, but, apparently, the Americans have a lot of complaints about his politics.
