
Eight former employees of the Kazan Police Department of Dalniy received a total of 67 years of colony. This was reported by the Openinform agency with reference to the head of the Kazan human rights center Igor Sholokhov, representing the interests of the four victims.
The former deputy head of the threat of the Dalniye Department Almaz Vasilov was sentenced to 15 years in a maximum security colony, and the former deputy head of the police department Fail Sabirzyanov - to 12 years in a maximum security colony. Two former Dalnoye operatives Ramil Akhmetzyanov and Ilnar Ilnar Ibatulin received 10 years in a maximum security colony.
The former head of the threat of the police department Ainur Rakhmatullin was sentenced to 8 years in a general regime colony, two former operatives-Amir Sharafullin and Denis Vasiliev-to the 6th and 4th years of the general regime, respectively, and another ex-operative Alexander Fadeev received two years of colony-settlement.
The victims, present at the meeting, expressed satisfaction with the verdict. At the same time, the lawyer of one of the police officers expressed his intention to appeal the verdict. “These boys are the victims of the system,” the representative of the Agora human rights organization, Pavel Chikov, quotes the lawyer.
Two more employees of Dalnoye - Ilshat Garifullin and Ramil Nigmatzyanov - were convicted earlier than others. At the same time, they were found guilty only in the illegal detention of a resident of Kazan Sergey Nazarov, but not in torture and beatings. Garifullin received 2.5 years in a general regime colony, and Nigmatzyanov - two years. The verdict for another person involved in the case - the former head of the Dalniy department Ilgiz Akhmetzyanov must be made later. According to investigators, Dalnoye employees regularly detained citizens under the pretext of fictional administrative offenses. Then the detainees were beaten and forced to confess the thefts. The four most intractable victims (including Sergey Nazarov) were raped by a bottle of champagne. Nazarov died after the incident. The death of the detainee caused a wide resonance, during the audit of the incident, the Dalniye Department was disbanded, and the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tatarstan, Asgat Safarov, quit.
