
The court in Omsk arrested the first vice-governor of the region Yuri Hamburg, detained on Sunday. This was reported on the website of the TFR. Earlier, Omsk Governor Viktor Nazarov removed his deputy from the performance of duties during the investigation.
One episode under part 1 of Article 286 (exceeding official powers) and six episodes under paragraph 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code (abuse of authority with causing serious consequences) were imposed to Hamburg. The sanction for the second of these crimes is up to 10 years of the colony.
According to the Investigative Department, in 2008-2012, Hamburg, holding the position of director of the Omsk administration Department, illegally provided property at the obviously low value of 24 land plots with a total area of 5.5 hectares for utility farms, as well as one land plot of more than 21 hectares, which were actually in the residential zone. "As a result of the illegal alienation of land plots, the budgets of the city of Omsk and the Omsk region caused significant damage in the amount of more than 400 million rubles," the SKR said in a statement.
The department calls the former Minister of Property Relations of the Omsk Region Vadim Merenkov, who hid from the investigation and put on the international wanted list. In the near future, the report said, the Investigative Committee will send a petition to the court for the absentee arrest of a fugitive official.
