The Volga District Court of Kazan considered a criminal case against ex-lawyer of the Tatarstan Bar Association Dmitry Troitsky, as well as two of his alleged accomplices - former colleague Nikolai Zhukovsky and their mutual friend Marina Kolesova. The defendants were found guilty of attempted fraud (Article 30 and Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). According to investigators, Mr. Troitsky, with the help of accomplices, tried to get 6 million rubles. from Robert Mirzagalyamov, who was suspected of participating in the Kazan organized crime group “Novotatarka”. He was promised to bribe the employees of the department for combating organized crime (OBOP) of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs who were developing the group. In fact, according to the Investigation Department (ID) of the Investigative Committee for Tatarstan, the attackers did not have such an opportunity; they intended to appropriate part of the money.

Dmitry Troitsky, who previously worked in law enforcement agencies, received a lawyer's certificate in 2003. He worked primarily in criminal cases; in 2012, at the time of his arrest, he was the lawyer of one of those accused of the crash of the diesel-electric ship "Bulgaria" - former inspector of the Volga Department of the State Marine and River Supervision Authority Vladislav Semenov.

According to the case materials, in February 2012, the relatives of the arrested Robert Mirzagalyamov entered into an agreement with Mr. Troitsky for the provision of legal services. They did not believe in the guilt of Mr. Mirzagalyamov, who was suspected of murders committed by members of the Novotatarka organized crime group (the group controlled businessmen in the area of the bus station and river port of Kazan in the 90s). For his services, the lawyer asked for 50 thousand rubles, half of which he was paid immediately. According to investigators, after some time he said that he had connections in law enforcement agencies and would try to resolve the issue of ending the criminal prosecution. Then Mr. Troitsky asked his colleague Nikolai Zhukovsky, through Marina Kolesova, who had acquaintances in the OBOP, to find out about “the possibility of providing him with unofficial assistance.” According to the investigation, the woman spoke with OBOP employees, who appear in the case as “unidentified officials,” and they allegedly told her that for 6 million rubles. can make it so that “in order to minimize possible punishment” a pre-trial cooperation agreement will be concluded with Mr. Mirzagalyamov. The operatives' proposal was conveyed to the suspect's relatives, who began looking for money. While the search was underway, OBOP employees refused the deal, but Mr. Troitsky and his accomplices decided not to tell Mr. Mirzagalyamov’s relatives about this, but to collect from them the entire above-mentioned amount, of which 240 thousand rubles. pick it up and share it with each other. The rest are just over 5.7 million rubles. it was planned to return it after some time, saying that nothing had worked out, and part of the money was spent on some “work” carried out by operatives.

At some point, the lawyer’s behavior seemed suspicious to Mr. Mirzagalyamov’s relatives, and they filed a complaint with the Russian FSB Directorate for Tatarstan. Mr. Troitsky was caught red-handed while receiving part of the amount of 2 million rubles. After Mr. Troitsky was exposed, the republican department of the Ministry of Justice announced that his legal activity had been terminated. As for Robert Mirzagalyamov, he and six other people, including the leader of the OPS (imam of one of the Kazan parishes), are now being tried in the Supreme Court of Tatarstan.

The court sentenced Mr. Troitsky to one year of suspended imprisonment. Mr. Zhukovsky received two years, and Ms. Kolesova one and a half years, also suspended. Moreover, both were released from punishment in connection with the amnesty held in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Constitution of the Russian Federation: the first has a disability, the other has young children. As Kommersant was told in the Privolzhsky District Court, Mr. Troitsky fully admitted his guilt, the rest insisted on their non-involvement in the crime.
