
Associate Professor of the Department of Applied Linguistics of the Ulyanovsk State Technical University Ivetta Arzamastsev is forced to quit the university for the management of the thesis, which proved the presence of plagiarism in the candidate dissertation of the first vice-governor of the region Alexander Yakunin. This was reported by local blogger Dmitry Savchuk. In case of refusal to quit, at his own free will, Arzamasseva is threatened with "problems with the law" without specifying what properties these "problems" may be.
The Ulyanovsk press predicted troubles to the student who wrote the work - Tatyana Bogomazova. However, Yakunin, according to Savchuk, "forgave" a graduate, but "promised to create problems for those who are behind it."
The theme of the thesis of Bogomazova , which the student recently defended on "excellent", "Actual issues of checking the uniqueness of texts using application programs." To analyze the work on plagiarism, the diplomower chose the dissertation of Yakunin for the degree of candidate of agricultural sciences, written on the topic "Resource -saving methods of soil processing when cultivating grain crops in the forest -steppe of the Middle Volga" and protected in 2006 in the Samara State Prosecutor General.
Using the Anti -Plagiat program, as well as a set of programs developed by members of the Dissernet community, Bogomazova found that almost 83 percent of Yakunin’s text is incorrect borrowing from the doctoral dissertation of the Academician of Nikolai Nemtsev, the scientific director of Yakunin, and the candidate dissertation of Oleg Goryachev, the son of a former Ulyanovsk governor Yuri Goryachev.
"We believe that ... Alexander Ivanovich Yakunin may be deprived of the degree of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation when submitting an appropriate application to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation by an individual or legal entity within 10 years from the date of the dissertation council of a decision on the awarded degree," concluded Bogomazova. She also recalled that before the expiration of the period in which the official can be deprived of the degree, two more and a half years remain.
Yakunin is 53 years old. In the public service - since 1985. In 2003 he came to the administration of the Ulyanovsk region, a year later he was appointed vice-governor. It is also the first deputy secretary of the regional branch of United Russia .
