The sanctions list was doubled: if earlier it included 50 people and 11 companies, now it has 100 private individuals and 22 enterprises. The defendants of the list are prohibited from entering the country, and their assets in Australia are frozen.

“I am deeply concerned about the unrest that continues in eastern Ukraine, and these sanctions again confirm the support of the Australia of Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Bishop noted. “It is necessary that the militants' groups are put up with weapons and immediately cease violence in eastern Ukraine. The authorized Russian Foreign Ministry on human rights, democracy and the rule of law Konstantin Dolgov called the new sanctions of Australia "an absolutely counterproductive step", regarding it as "infringement of the legitimate rights and interests of Russian citizens." “As always, we are not left such steps without an appropriate adequate answer,” the official added.
