The Here Comes the Ball blog was launched on the first day of the 2014 FIFA World Cup. The anonymous author dedicated the pilot drawing to the Brazil-Croatia match.

The author of the blog regularly updates it with new pictures, sometimes publishing several a day. All illustrations are made in Paint. The project also has its own Instagram account with 840 subscribers, where all the pictures are relayed.

According to Neha Prakash of Mashable, the blog is intended primarily for “sports noobs” who simply need a guide to world football in a day when the whole world is talking about this sport.
