President Vladimir Putin submitted to the Federation Council a proposal to cancel the resolution of March 1 on the use of the Russian army in Ukraine. This was reported by the Kremlin press service.

The president made such a decision "in order to normalize the situation and settlement of the situation in the eastern regions of Ukraine, as well as in connection with the beginning of tripartite negotiations on this issue," the press service notes. Putin sent a letter in the name of the speaker of the upper house before departure to Vienna on an official visit.

On March 1, the Federation Council satisfied Putin’s request to enter troops into Ukraine . The decision was made unanimously. On March 4, Putin gave a press conference in Novo-Ogarev, at which he stated that he considers the change of power in Ukraine an anti-constitutional coup . The guarantees of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, in his opinion, cannot extend to the new power in Kyiv, since it was formed as a result of revolutionary changes and is another state. Nevertheless, there is no need to introduce troops into Ukraine yet, Putin noted. If they enter, they will stand "not ahead, but behind" - for civilians, the president said.

On June 20, President of Ukraine Poroshenko gave an order to cease to be a week by all power units participating in a special operation in eastern Ukraine. He also submitted a peace plan to settle.

On June 22, Putin, in a conversation with the Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and France President Francois Olland as a whole, supported Poroshenko’s plan and emphasized that the intentions voiced by him should be reinforced by the real cessation of fire. The head of the Russian state noted that the peace plan will not be "viable and realistic" without practical actions aimed at the beginning of negotiations.

On Monday, US Vice President Joe Biden told Poroshenko during a telephone conversation that the United States, along with the rest of the G7 members, are working on new economic sanctions against Russia . According to Biden, new sanctions will be imposed if Moscow does not take actions to stop the supply of weapons to the east of Ukraine and the transfer of militants across the border. The White House also expects Moscow to use its influence and publicly "calls for the separatists to lay down weapons."
