Doctor of Philosophy Professor Vladimir Dobrenkov resigned from the post of dean of the sociology faculty of Moscow State University. This was reported on Facebook by the Associate Professor of the Faculty of Global Processes of Moscow State University Oleg Ivanov.
"Professor -plagiator Dobrenkov quietly and ingloriously resigned, holding out, thanks to the rector, seven years after those very events at the sociology faculty," Ivanov wrote. In addition, the rector of Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichi fired the philosopher Alexander Dugin from the post of head of the department of sociology of international relations of this faculty. Dugin is actively in support of the separatists of the East of Ukraine. In 2007, Dobrenkov was in the center of the scandal. Former teachers accused the dean of dictatorial style of leadership and dismissal "for any manifestation of dissent." Dobrenkova was also criticized for a significant amount of incorrect borrowings in the textbooks published by him and dissertations protected at the faculty, as well as a decrease in the general level of teaching.
In 2008, a number of students of the faculty, dissatisfied with the quality of training, the level of a significant part of teachers, constant conservative-nationalist indocation by the leadership, as well as household disorder at the faculty, expressed a public protest on this occasion.
