Dean social faculty of Moscow State University resigned

The dean of the sociology of the Faculty of Moscow State University Vladimir Dobrenkov resigned. Dobrenkov himself stated this on June 27 at the Council of Deanov, said Alexander Auzan, Dean of the Faculty of Economics of the Moscow State University, Dean of the Faculty of Economics.

Nothing reported about the reasons for the resignation of Dobrenkov, who headed the social faculty from the moment of founding in 1989. The Slon faculty explained that the dean has expired the term of the employment contract.

In 2007, Dobryenkov was in the center of the scandal at the sociological faculty. Former teachers accused the dean of dictatorial style of leadership and dismissal "for any manifestation of dissent." The concern of personnel in the social faculty was then expressed by the rector of the university Viktor Sadovnichy, but there was no decision to change the leadership of the faculty.

Dobrenkova was also criticized for a significant amount of incorrect borrowings (without links to sources) in the textbooks published by him and a decrease in the general level of teaching at the faculty.

In addition to the leadership of the social faculty, Dobrenkov also heads the International Academy of Business and Management, established in 1997.
