According to OVD-Info, lawyer Eduard Shcherbakov, who represents Mikhail Feldman, who is accused in the case of hanging the German flag on the building of the Kaliningrad FSB, a new criminal case has been opened against his client - under Article 222. Criminal Code, on illicit trafficking in explosives.
According to investigators, in Feldman's backpack, which he carried to the rally, a certain package with 375 grams of hexogen was found among his personal belongings - however, without damaging elements, shells and other signs of a bomb.
Feldman took off his backpack before hanging the flag, put it next to him, and was detained at the scene of the incident by operatives. Shcherbakov says that his client made a mistake by signing, without carefully reading, a protocol with an inventory of things from his backpack. According to the lawyer, some things were mentioned in the protocol that did not belong to Feldman.
The most unpleasant of them turned out to be the “package with hexogen”. Shcherbakov notes a number of oddities with this package: judging by the documents he has, immediately after Feldman’s arrest (March 12, 2014), the interrogator recorded that the package contained hexogen, and even recorded the specific characteristics of this explosive. At the same time, the examination of the substance from the package, which confirmed that it was hexogen with exactly the same characteristics, was dated March 31.
This examination lay "under the cloth". After serving 10 days of administrative arrest, the protesters near the FSB building spent another month at large. And the case and the examination surfaced only in June, before the extension of the period of detention.
During the examination, "hexogen" was completely destroyed by forensic scientists, so it is impossible to double-check its data.
Sergei Davidis, a lawyer for the Memorial human rights center, told OVD-Info that the defendants in the German flag case were soon to be recognized as political prisoners.
