
210 years ago, on July 1, 1804, the French writer Georges Sand (Amandin Aurora Dupin), a great -grandson of the outstanding French commander Moritsa Saxon, was born. After the December coup of 1851, she achieved an audience with Louis Napoleon and handed him a letter calling for the termination of the persecution of political opponents. The writer managed to soften the fate of many Republicans. For her anti -lric works, Georges Sand was persecuted, and newspapers and magazines where they were published were closed.
