"Russia is not a side of the confrontation - this is the intra -Ukrainian conflict. And Moscow cannot tell the militias what to do and how to do it. But it can call the militias and use the existing influence," Peskov said, answering the question of whether Moscow agrees to put pressure on the leadership of the self -proclaimed republics to observe the regime of a residence.
The day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel, French President Francois Olland and President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, during a telephone conversation, spoke out for the speedy organization of the third round of consultations between representatives of Kyiv and the southeastern regions of Ukraine. In addition, Putin suggested Poroshenko to place Izvarino, Dolzhanskoye and Krasnopartisansk from Russia observers from the State Border Service of Ukraine and the OSCE at the border posts.
In turn, Poroshenko said that he decided not to extend the ceasefire in the east of the country. He explained that the chance of incarnating a peaceful plan was not implemented because of the actions of the militants who took more than a hundred attacks on the Ukrainian military during the period of the truce. According to him, the protection of the territorial integrity of Ukraine, the security and the life of civilians requires not only defensive, but also offensive actions.
