The Central Bank decided to issue a banknote dedicated to Crimea

The Bank of Russia plans to release a monetary bill dedicated to Crimea. About this, according to Interfax , said the first deputy chairman of the Central Bank Georgy Luntovsky to journalists in St. Petersburg on Wednesday as part of the International Banking Congress.

Recently, recall, the State Duma deputy from the LDPR Alexei Didenko suggested that the head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina consider the issue of issuing a banknote with a denomination of 10,000 rubles dedicated to the entry of Crimea into Russia. According to Didenko, this is necessary so that "Crimea is not only spiritually with us, in our thoughts, but also material - in our pockets and wallets."

On the bill, the parliamentarian proposed placing images of the monument to Admiral Nakhimov and a monument to the flooded ships in Sevastopol, as well as the Vladimir Cathedral in Khersones. The head of the Central Bank promised to consider the initiative.

Now it has become known that the bill of 10,000 rubles of the Central Bank still does not intend to release the bill.

Georgy Luntovsky said: “If you remember our banknote dedicated to the Olympic Games, it was 100 rubles. Perhaps there will be 100, or 50 rubles, or 500 rubles, but it will be from the current nominal series,” said the first deputy chairman of the Central Bank.

According to him, as in the release of bills dedicated to the Olympic Games in Sochi, a tender was announced to the design of the new bill. Perhaps the banknote will be issued this year if the Central Bank has time to hold such a competition.

In the Central Bank, it was previously noted that talk about a bill of 10,000 rubles will be premature until inflation decreases, although such proposals have sounded more than once.
