
The Thai authorities deported the leader of the Schelkovo criminal group Alexander Matusov to Russia, nicknamed Basmach. He has been hiding since 2009. According to ITAR-TASS, together with Matusov, two more Russians accused of fraud were sent to their homeland.
Thai police arrested Matusov on June 23 for violating traffic rules. A fake passport was discovered in his house in the vicinity of Pattaya. When establishing a personality, it turned out that Matusov has been on the international wanted list for five years.
At the airport, Pattaya Matusov arranged a protest - he lay down on the floor and demanded a lawyer. The immigration service employees took Matusov to the registration stance on the baggage cart, and then transferred to a wheelchair and taken to the departure zone.
The Schelkovo criminal group that Matusov created in the 1990s is known for dozens of brutal murders. In 2011, a number of participants in the organized crime group were sentenced to a long term of imprisonment.
