
The retired colonel Leonid Khabarov was released from the IK-35 in Abakan. This was reported by "Vedomosti-Ural" with reference to Dmitry Khabarov, son of Politzek. The decision to release the 67-year-old colonel was issued by one of the district courts of Khakassia, taking into account the state of health of Khabarov.
On July 2, the colonel returned home to Yekaterinburg. As they say on the Khabarov Support Support website, the former political prisoner plans to make an appeal. It will be published on the site.
Khabarov was detained by the FSB in July 2011 in Yekaterinburg. In addition to him, four more people were detained: Sergey Katnikov, Viktor Kralin and Alexander and Vladislav Ladeshchikov. All five, claimed, were members of the People’s militia named after Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky.
According to the FSB, the defendants in the case were supposed to be armed to seize power in Yekaterinburg, including to take control of military units. After that, they intended to mobilize the male population, to arm it with firearms stored in units, to nominate detachments to Moscow and present the country's leadership with a demand for the transfer of power. According to special services, the beginning of the operation was scheduled for August 2, 2011.
In May 2012, two accused received conditional terms: Vladislav Ladeshchikov for six years, Sergey Katnikov - five and a half. The consideration of the case of the other three defendants began in July 2012.
On February 26, 2013, the College of the Sverdlovsk Regional Court consisting of the chairman Denis Meledin and the judges of Elena Ibatullina and Dmitry Kazantsev sentenced Khabarov and Kralin to four and a half years of the general regime, and Alexander Ladechikov - to two years conditionally. All three were found guilty under part 1 of Article 205.1 (involvement in terrorist activity) and part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code (illegal turnover of weapons). Part 1 of Article 30, part 1 of Article 279 (preparation for armed rebellion) and part 1 of Article 30, paragraph "G" Part 3 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code (preparation for drug trafficking) were also charged, but it was justified by these accusations.
On August 15, 2013, the Supreme Court left the sentence to Khabarov and Kralin in force .
Khabarov is a disabled person of the group II, and during the investigation the defense repeatedly demanded his liberation from custody. However, these petitions were not satisfied. A violation of the rights of the colonel during the investigation was also reported.
In early February 2013, the Moscow City Court sentenced the backward colonel of the GRU Vladimir Kvachkov, who, according to the special services, was the leader of the Minin and Pozharsky People’s militia. Kvachkov received 13, and his ally Alexander Kiselev - 11 years of strict regime. However, in August 2013, the Supreme Court, excluding the charges of terrorism from the case and leaving only the preparation of the armed rebellion, reduced Kvachkov to be concluded to 8 years, Kiselev - up to 5 and a half years of strict regime.
