As Amelin himself told Colta.ru, he was detained at the Arbat metro station for smoking in the immediate vicinity of the entrance to the subway. Now the detainee is in the Arbat police department, he faces an arrest for up to 15 days.
Maxim Amelin is a laureate of the Antibuker Award, the Prizes of the New World magazines and the Banner, the Great Prize of the Moscow Account, the Bunin Prize.
In 2013, he was awarded the award of Alexander Solzhenitsyn "For innovative experiments that extend the boundaries and possibilities of lyrical poetry, for the development of diverse traditions of the Russian verse and for extensive educational activities for the benefit of elegant literature."
