© Tanel Meos / Eesti PaevalehtRussian music critic and journalist Artemy Troitsky emigrated to Estonia. He made such a decision, disagreing with the policy of Russian President Vladimir Putin against Ukraine.
About this today, July 4, writes the Estonian newspaper Eesti Paevaleht , reports RBC .
The publication reports that Troitsky is not satisfied with the domestic policy in Russia - "the atmosphere of hysteria, militarism, aggressiveness." According to him, recently the life of those whose position does not coincide with the opinion of power has become psychologically tense. Troitsky noted that propaganda on television and pressure on people only increase.
“Today's situation in Russia is such that you can either put up with it or leave the country,” the critic is sure.
“Let the authorities leave us alone, and we will leave power. Someone gives up. Not because of the direct fear of the prison, because life can be made unpleasant and in other ways. For example, the rock band used to receive a million dollars a year, and if it starts to resist, it will work only 200,000, they will no longer be called for corporate parties, ”says Troitsky.
According to Eesti Paevaleht , he left Russia with his wife and children and intends to work at the University of Tallinn. The return in the near future is not talking, but Troitsky does not consider himself a political refugee: “At least until Russia closes the border.”
“If I wanted to escape from Putin somewhere far, it would be necessary to choose the United States of America, not Estonia, which theoretically is still in danger,” concluded Artemy Troitsky.
PS In the commentary "Lente.ru" Artemy Troitsky denied information about his departure from Russia.
