On the eve of the "Minister of Defense" of the DPR, Igor Strelkov said that about 30 thousand civilians from the pre -war population to more than 100 thousand people remained in Slavyansk.

On Friday near Slavyansk there were fierce battles. The speaker of the power operation in the east of the country Alexei Dmititrashkovsky told the Intefax-Ukraine agency that at least 150 militants were killed in battles. Six of their strongholds were also destroyed and the ammunition base in Nikolaevka and Semenovka was destroyed.

By the end of last week, the Ukrainian military, by order of the president of the country, Petro Poroshenko, observed a truce regime. They had the right to open only the return fire. Summing up the movements of the ceasefire, the Kyiv authorities emphasized that by the fault of militants, it was disturbed more than a hundred times. The Ukrainians continued to suffer serious losses during this time. On Monday, the power operation in eastern Ukraine was continued.

On Wednesday, the Foreign Minister of Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine agreed on a package of measures to resolve the situation in Ukraine. They include the convocation of the tripartite contact group in the near future. The OSCE should monitor the cessation of fire. An agreement was also reached that all hostages should be released, and the checkpoints of the pass on the Russian-Ukrainian border are transferred to Ukraine’s control.
