Euromaidan will move to the fortress

The protesters and representatives of the Maidan Self -Defense will leave the central square of Kyiv. They are going to move to the territory of the Kyiv fortress. Activists have already begun to disassemble tents and infrastructure, reports UNN.

“We seek that the Kiev administration now provides us with a center where we can create a center of patriotic education and assistance to battalions in eastern Ukraine. In order for self -defense to go to this center, and not scared ordinary Kiev on the Maidan, who, based on the transition, saw armed people, ”said Andrei Parubiy, head of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.

The fortress-museum is one with the territory of the military hospital and is located near the Boulevard of Lesya Ukrainka.

In November 2013, as a result of the decision of the Ukrainian government, to suspend the process of signing an association agreement with the European Union in the country worsened the socio-political crisis. This decision led to a mass protest in the center of Kyiv, as well as in other cities of Ukraine, by analogy with the events of 2004 called the Euromaidan.

In January-February 2014, there were armed clashes between the participants of the Maidan and the power structures, the aggravation of which ended with the change in the current government of the fourth president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and the formation of a new Ukrainian government.
