The prosecutor asked for Udaltsov eight years in a colony

The prosecution asked for a punishment in the form of eight years in prison for the defendants in the “swamp business” Sergei Udaltsov and Leonid Razvoszhaev. This was announced by lawyer Nikolai Polozov on his Twitter.

According to the prosecutor, the wine of Udaltsov and Razvozhaev in the organization of riots on Bolotnaya Square on May 6, 2012 has been fully proven. The punishment, the prosecutor believes, the defendants must serve in the colony of general regime.

One of the key witnesses against Udaltsov and Razvoszhaev was their ally on the left movement Konstantin Lebedev. He agreed to cooperate with the investigation and signed a confession, fully pleading guilty of organizing riots. Lebedev was sentenced to 2.5 years in colony of general regime. In May 2014, he was conventionally released .

The criminal case against Udaltsov, Razvoszhaev and Lebedev was instituted based on the materials of the television film “Anatomy of Protest-2”, shown on the air of the NTV television company. The film, in particular, shows video recording of Udaltsov’s negotiations with the Georgian functionary Givi Targamadze, who, according to investigators, transferred money to some Russian opposition to the destabilization of the situation in the Russian Federation. Later, the case of Udaltsov, Razvoszhaev and Lebedev was combined into one production with a “swamp business”.

On May 6, 2012, on the eve of the inauguration of Vladimir Putin on Bolotnaya Square in Moscow, clashes occurred between the participants in the opposition “Million Marsh” and the police. The Russian authorities insist that the riots were planned, the opposition believes that they were chaotic and occurred due to provocation by law enforcement officers.
