The district court of Nicosia arrested the assets of Telman Ismailov in the amount of $ 135 million at the request of the SEZARIA company. The lawsuit is related to Ismailov’s debt to the Mangazei company, owned by the entrepreneur Sergei Yanchukov in the amount of $ 100 million, Kommersant writes .
According to Yanchukov, Tandum Ismailova took two loans from Sezaria at 10% per annum. Funds went to development projects in Moscow for the personal guarantee of an entrepreneur. The company was supposed to return the money before September 1, 2013. Now Sezaria is preparing for the process in the London Arbitration Court.
Sezaria is part of the Mangazei group of companies belonging to Yanchukov, which is engaged in gold, gas, financial transactions and developments.
Among the arrested property is the Mardan Palace Hotel in Turkey, the estate on the coast of France, the Safisa celebrations on the Vorobyevsky highway, the AST GOF hotel for 90 rooms and the Marina shopping center on Garibaldi Street in Moscow. Lawyers interviewed by the newspaper believe that the cost of one hotel is much larger than the amount of debt, so the dispute will most likely be settled before the court.
Until 2008, Telman Ismailov owned the Cherkizov market, a residential complex in Izmailovo, a Prague restaurant on New Arbat, a military commissar and land in the Moscow Region. However, after the loud presentation of the new Mardan Palace hotel, in which the entrepreneur invested, according to various estimates, to $ 1.5 billion, with the participation of pop stars, he began problems.
As a result of inspections that revealed the availability of counterfeit products and illegal workers, the Cherkizov market was closed and demolished. Later, in December 2009, during the “direct line” at that time, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin spoke about the case of Ismailov, the hotel and the market. According to the head of government, there was nothing criminal in the very fact of the construction of a hotel in Turkey, but if there are resources for investment, it is better to use them in Russia, for example, for the construction of hotels in Sochi.
After that, Ismailov went abroad, and later lost to Voentorg Suleiman Kerimov. Today, Forbes estimates Ismailov at $ 750 million.
