Together with him, the music director and conductor Vasily Petrenko and the artist Zinovy Margolin work on the performance .
“In this production, I deliberately avoid specific temporary bindings, since the historical context does not affect the dramatic swing, on the features of male and female psychology that underlie this work. - says Vasily Barkhatov. “I mean what did not allow Tatyana and Onegin to be together: at first a man is afraid to deprive himself of the future - all that he had not yet, after years, a woman is afraid to lose the present - everything that she already has.”
The main parties in the play are rehearsed by Alexander Kuznetsov, Boris Pinhasovich, Vladislav Sulimsky (Onegin); Asmik Grigoryan, Maria Litka, Tatyana Ryaguzova (Tatyana); Dmitry Korchak, Suren Maksutov (Lensky); Irina Shishkova (Olga); Ain Anger (Gremin).
Vasily Petrenko and Vasily Barkhatov are together preparing the second performance - in July 2013, they presented on the stage of the Mikhailovsky Theater the opera Wagner “Flying Dutchman”.
