Messages about the Russians who died during the war in the east of Ukraine are fabrications of Ukrainian propaganda. According to ITAR-TASS, this was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Alexander Lukashevich in response to the question of the Ukrainian journalist, whether the department has information about the number of Russian citizens who were killed in the war.

“I am not familiar with such statistics,” said Lukashevich, “and I think that it is inspired by Ukrainian propaganda capabilities that emphasize that we are fighting on the side of the militias. This is not at all so.”

The official also assured that Russia does not intend to enter its troops into Ukraine. He added that this information was refuted "at the highest levels." “It is apparently specially launched by someone who wants to get Russia's reaction to events in Ukraine,” Lukashevich remarked.

Since the beginning of hostilities in eastern Ukraine, at least dozens of Russians who fought on the side of the terrorists have been killed. The supporters of the “DPR” and “LPR” also reported the death of militants from Russia. In particular, on July 2, the St. Petersburg activist of the National Democratic Party Alexander Zhuchkovsky, who then fought near Slavyansk, spoke about the death of two terrorists as a result of shelling by the Ukrainian security forces. “One of the dead, Vladimir, came yesterday as part of a group from St. Petersburg,” the militant noted . “It is still impossible to identify the second (most likely also from St. Petersburg).”
