“In Russia, unlike Europe, where there are companies such as the British Dogwoof or Danish Doxbio , there are no distributors who would specialize in documentary cinema, because it is a tiny niche. But it is empty, and we plan to work in it, since we managed to study our audience in the five years that the Beat Film Festival has existed - not only in Moscow, but also in other cities where the BEAT WeEkenD regional project has been taking place, ”says Alena Bocharova, Executive Director of Beat Films .
She said that the company plans to roll 4-6 films a year, mainly from the festival program.
“Still” is the first documentary full-length film about the cult Russian rock band “Auktsyon”. Director Dmitry Lavrinenko worked on the picture for seven years. The film was first shown this year at the closure of the Beat Film Festival , in May it received the Steppe Wolf Award.
The film is carried out in cooperation with the management of Auctsyon, in some cities the shows of "Still" will be timed to the tour of the group or its participants. A pre -premiere show with the participation of Auktsyon will be held on July 15 at the Aurora St. Petersburg Cinema.
