YouTube blocked the "deadline" because of Kashin

At the request of the heirs of the leader of the Civil Defense group, Yegor Letov from the YouTube video hosting video, the documentary “Term” was deleted. The reason was a violation of copyright: in one of the scenes of the film, journalist Oleg Kashin sings the song “Civil Defense”.

When trying to open the “deadline” page on YouTube.com, a message is issued that the video is not available due to copyright claims presented by the heirs of Yegor Letov.

In the titers of the “deadline” all the musical works used in the film are listed, including the song of Yegor Letov “Everything is going according to plan”, which Kashin sang on May 6, 2013 during a rally on Bolotnaya Square in Moscow. Kashin himself noticed one of the first disappearance of the “deadline” and told about it on his Twitter. The journalist told TJournal that the representatives of Letov had not addressed him before, although a few days ago, one of Facebook users accused Kashin of “robbing” Natalia Chumakova, the widow of Letov and the Bas-defending bass player.

“They believe that he sang her incorrectly, ugly and wrong. I showed the widow the film before the premiere and explained that the song is important to him. Not only did Oleg sang, but he also spoke, in my opinion, important words: that leaders are not those who are in the squares or in the Kremlin, but Pushkin, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy and Yegor Letov. But she still did not like it. I think this is the reason for the blocking, ”the director said.
