Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez has moved from Liverpool FC to Barcelona, the official website of the Catalan club reports.
According to the press service of Barcelona, Suarez only has to complete formal affairs at the English club, after which a contract will be signed. The term of the agreement is for five years, the transaction amount is not disclosed. Earlier, the media wrote that Barcelona would pay about 88 million euros for the Uruguayan.
Suarez will arrive in Barcelona next week to undergo a medical examination. Then he will give a press conference as a player of the Catalan club.
Suarez made a total of 110 appearances for Liverpool and scored 60 goals.
FIFA previously suspended Suarez for four months after he bit Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini during a World Cup match in Brazil. Such a strict disciplinary measure was caused by the fact that Suarez had bitten opponents during matches at least twice before, and this is not the first time such proceedings have occurred.
