A powerful explosion thundered in the center of Istanbul, there are victims

At least four people were injured as a result of the explosion in one of the central regions of the Turkish city of Istanbul, ITAR-TASS reports. The police clarified: this is not a terrorist attack, an explosion of gas occurred.

The explosion thundered in a packaging workshop located on the ground floor of a five -story residential building in the Zeyitinburn area, and significantly damaged nearby buildings.

According to local television channels, among the wounded a pregnant woman, there are no dead.

It is believed that the cause of detonation was a cylinder with household gas or a gas leak in the room. The building partially collapsed, and it is no longer suitable for living.

On Friday, a similar incident occurred in the city of Denizley. One died and 25 people were injured. The cause of the explosion is called spontaneous detonation of the gas cylinder.
