
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the current chairman of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Switzerland President Didier Burkhalter during a telephone conversation on July 14 discussed the OSCE involvement in the development of decisions in the conflict in the southeast of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Russian diplomatic mission.
Lavrov and Burkhalter agreed to attract the OSCE to solve the problems of the exchange of hostages between the authorities of Ukraine and the pro -Russian militias in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions.
According to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both sides of the conversation advocate the creation of conditions for the ceasefire and the early de -escalation of the armed conflict in accordance with the Geneva statement of April 17 and the Berlin Declaration of July 2.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian Foreign Ministry, without waiting for the ceasefire, invited OSCE observers to the border points of the Donetsk and Gukovo checkpoint.
