Danone will close the oldest dairy in Siberia

On September 1, the Danone group will close the oldest Siberian dairy, located in Novosibirsk. This was reported by the local Internet portal "Taga.info" with reference to company representatives.

In the Danone, the plant was considered unprofitable. The company’s PR director in the Siberian Federal District Tatyana Tkachenko explained the closure of the plant by the impossibility of modernizing and expanding production. The reason was that the enterprise is located in close proximity to residential quarters in the city center. Technical development to comply with the standards of product quality and environmental safety of production, according to Tkachenko, is impossible.

Employees will help employees with employment, and employees of pre -retirement age will receive additional payments, promised in the company. Vice President of Danone Human Resources in Russia and the CIS Bertran Kefelek told the publication that the company "will do everything possible so that the released employees of the Novosibirsk dairy plant received the necessary attention and support, taking into account the individual situation of everyone."

In 2011, it was reported that the united company Danone-Yunimilk bought land for the construction of a new plant in the area of ​​the village of Kolyvan near Novosibirsk. Then it was planned to launch a plant with a capacity of 500 tons of milk per day. The company also refused the construction of new production. Thus, in the Novosibirsk region, Danone will only have oil production in the Chanovsky district. According to Taiga.info, the capacities will be transferred to the Kemerovo region.

The oldest Novosibirsk dairy plant was opened in 1926. In 2006, after the change of several owners, he became part of the UNIMILK company, which combined with Danone four years later. Now the plant produces an average of 50-60 tons of drinking milk and dairy products per day under the brands “Summer Day”, “For the whole family”, “Prostokvashino” and “Tyoma”. Products are distributed in the Novosibirsk, Kemerovo and Tomsk regions and in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
