
The Crimean Protection Fund included in the structure of the deposit insurance agency, reported on its work since the creation (early April). During this time, he issued to depositors Ukrainian banks who previously worked on the peninsula, almost 11 billion rubles.
In total, 85.9 thousand depositors applied for compensation payments, they returned a total of 10.9 billion rubles, follows from the report of the fund . The largest amounts were transferred to the customers of Privatbank and Oschadbank: 5.4 billion and 4.3 billion, respectively.
After the accession of Crimea to Russia, more than 30 Ukrainian banks closed on the peninsula; Only two small organizations remained - the Bank of the Sea and the Black Sea Bank of Development and Reconstruction, Interfax clarifies. According to the law, the DIA reimburses up to 100% of the amount of deposits, but not more than 700 thousand rubles per one depositor.
Before creating the Crimean Protection Fund, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev estimated the bank deposits of Crimeans at 90 billion rubles , however, on March 31, the State Duma adopted a law on the transfer of 60 billion rubles from the profit of the Central Bank to the aid of the peninsula depositors. Later, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak said that the DIA would pay the customers of Crimea banks about 30 billion rubles.
