Sberbank refused to participate in Farnboro

Sberbank decided to refuse to participate in the British air show in Farnborough, which began work on July 14. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the press service of the largest Russian bank.

“This year, participation in the“ Farnborough ”exhibition Sberbank was planned in advance, but due to the change of priorities in the implementation of the exhibition, the bank decided to refuse to participate in the project in 2014,” said the official representative of the finorganization.

Sberbank emphasized that they will continue to cooperate with Farnborough. The bank is the largest financial partner of Russian aviation-space companies and traditionally participates in the air show.

Earlier it became known that most of the Russian delegation could not get to the air exhibition, since it did not receive appropriate visas. As ITAR-TASS reported with reference to the Foreign Ministry of Great Britain, the British side explained the refusal to issue visas by the actions of Russia in Ukraine. As a result, the deputy chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Rogozin recommended that the Russian participants of Farnboro generally turn their participation in the air show.

In turn, the deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Yuri Slyusar warned that Russian aircraft builders would incur losses due to the untimely receipt of British visas, Interfax points out.

“I apologize for practicality, but just sorry for the money. Stands were paid, tickets, hotels were paid - all this is irrevocably, ”Slyusar explained.

The International Aviation Salu in Farnborough takes place once every two years in a suburbs of London. In 2014, the exhibition is held from July 14 to 20. About a thousand companies from 37 countries take part in it.
